New York City is one of the most famous cities in the world. From business to art to cinema to sports to politics, New York has something to boast about from every walk of life. So you should look to visit NYC and start planning on how to spend a weekend in NYC as soon as possible.

Luckily for you there are multiple ways to get to New York from Toronto, you can take a flight from Toronto and arrive to your destination in just 1 and a half hour or you can take the famous greyhound bus and get there in a little over 12 hours, or you can simply just choose to drive to the Big Apple.

New York is famous for being a city that NEVER SLEEPS so whatever time you arrive in NYC you will surely receive a welcome like no other! There are many tourist spots around the city that attract people from all over the world, with the most recognizable and famous ones being The Statue of Liberty, Times Square, and Central Park.

One of the best things that NYC residents are surely proudest of is the music scene in the city. So you can begin the second day of your weekend get-away with some great New York food and then you can enjoy the concerts of local musicians of all genres in the city and then head to the famous Musical Broadway shows in the city. Even though the tickets to one of these shows are a bit higher on the price range but for a Broadway fan, much like myself, the experience can be totally worth it and can become the best part of oneā€™s NYC highlights as it did for me!

For the last day of your weekend, you can submerge yourself into the arts and culture offered by NYC. You start off by visiting The Metropolitan Museum and the Rockefeller center and then you can pay homage to the victims of the tragic 9/11 attacks at the 9/11 Memorial Museum.

You can have lunch at some highly accredited Michelin-star restaurants around the city. After lunch, you can proceed to the Chelsea Market, which is a great option for budget-friendly shopping, or the Oculus Plaza, which features high-end and luxury brands for shoppers with expensive tastes.Ā

You can end your day and trip by visiting the Grand Central Terminal, perhaps the most famous train station in the world known for its distinctive architecture and historical importance.
