This city is developed a lot in the past few years. Ahmedabad’s unique multicultural heritage makes it India’s first Unesco Heritage City. Walking through Ahmedabad, one of the busiest cities in India’s westernmost state Gujarat, for a visitor, it is easy to miss the Pols. Maybe the shine has left most of the Pols. You may walk right through one without realizing that they are part of the city’s living heritage.

Adalaj Stepwell

Adalaj Stepwell or Rudabai Stepwell is a stepwell located in the village of Adalaj, close to Ahmedabad city and in Gandhinagar district in the Indian state of Gujarat. It was built in 1498 in the memory of Rana Veer Singh, by his wife Queen Rudadevi.

Adalaj Step-well: Indo-Islamic Fine architecture work

It is a fine example of Indian architecture work. Adalaj ni vav (step-wells are called vavs in the Indian state of Gujarat) is a beautiful structure, descending five stories deep. The stepwell’s immense beauty is not the only thing spectacular about it. The tale of its creation is full of love and war, devotion and betrayal.

Street Food Night in Manekchowk

In Ahmedabad, Manekchowk is the best place to eat at night. If you are fond of street food and don’t mind going out at night, then you can’t miss this place. The place starts its food after 10 in the night I think and continues till around 12:30 or 1. The atmosphere is electric here with the place full of family and student crowd alike. Must have here is Ghoogharia Sandwich, Gwalior Dosa, and Pav Bhaji. I can come back to Ahemadabad just to eat at this place.
